Doddington Model Club used to meet in the village of Doddington between Chatteris and March, Cambridgeshire, hence how we got our name!  We now meet in Wimblington, which is only a mile or so from where we began.  Simply we are a bunch of people who enjoy flying.  The club is not here for profit, merely as a way to keep us flying and attempting to provide the best facilities we can locally for people to come along and enjoy the hobby.
As a good cause and a thank you, we donate to the RSPCA, Block Fen, Cambridgeshire.  We donate what we can afford left over from membership subscriptions, and aim to achieve a contribution from the club of 1,000 each year.

Doddington Model Club is affiliated with the British Model Flying Association (BMFA), registered Club no. 2840.

Can we help?

We know that flying model aircraft can be difficult.  We are here to help!  We have simulators you can use, and we can assist with 'buddying' on planes which use the Spektrum Transmitter and Receiver system too.
A number of our members are competent helicopter pilots and always willing to help and give guidance on flying, setting up and hopefully answering any questions you have.

What kind of models currently fly at the club?

At present, to list a few models flying with us (for some of these there are 3,4 or more)...

WOT4 FoamE Electric and Nitro
Scale Aeroplanes
AcroWOT
Flybarred and Flybarless single rotor helicopters between 450 and 700 size.
Flying wings and 'night' flying wings - Swift 2's and Maxi Swifts
Squall inducted fan jets
Numerous foam and stunt style planes
A number of 250 Multirotor aircraft

... the list could go on!

Why do we do it?

Because we love the hobby and want to help get more people airborne.  Many people get helicopters, planes and all sorts as presents or from Ebay because they see a bargain, and without the knowledge, they crash and eventually destroy them.  With a bit of help, everyone can be up and flying, and thats what we are here for.
We don't make a profit! Have as many visits as you like, and 2 flying sessions for free whilst you make your decision.

I am interested, but what do I do now?

Have you got a model at home that you've never been able to fly or run properly, or are you just curious about the hobby? Then come and speak to us!!

You can contact us from a number of pages within our site, including by clicking HERE to email us.
